The resort is situated
on the shores of Lake of Bays in the heart of Muskoka, an area renowned
in winter for its large annual snowfall, spectacular beauty, clean
air, and abundance of wildlife.
Although snow arrives
in this area as early as late October, winter conditions for outdoor
activities are generally not reliable until some time during December.
Downhill skiing and snowboarding may start during November if the
weather is cold enough to make snow. Generally by Christmas there
is lots of snow. The lake is usually frozen by early January and doesn't
open up again until late April.
Our guests enjoy the
benefits of having cottage accommodation.
Families will appreciate the convenience of separate bedrooms. Couples
will enjoy the privacy of their own cottage.
There is much to do
and see at Blue Water Acres. There are more recreation
facilities at the resort than any other cottage resort in Ontario.
During winter, there are multiple activities to choose from, including:
skating, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, downhill skiing, tubing
and tobogganing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding
and sleigh rides.
We know you will want
to know as much as possible about where you will spend your winter
vacation or a short breakaway. You'll be able to do this right here.
There are many pages for you to explore with many photos and much
information about the resort, the area, and our local attractions
and services
To avoid disappointment,
it's a good idea to book your vacation during Christmas week and February
weekends as early as possible. The resort is generally full during
these periods and choice is very limited for those who leave it to
the last minute. Our rates
are very competitive.
